Hi, everyone! Welcome to Bug Talk. I’m
your host Ryan Haynes. Today we are
going to talk about all of the exciting
events happening soon in our local
community. If you live in Sebring, Avon
Park, Lake Placid or even in Polk or
Desoto counties there are several
events that you won’t want to miss.
The 2025 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of
Sebring Race event will be happening
March 12-15th. This is a huge event for
our town as we prepare to welcome
people from all over the world. Race
teams and fans come to enjoy all this
event has to offer. As the race gets
closer the excitement builds.
This event is something our family looks
forward to each year. The transport
parade through downtown Sebring is a
highlight. Our children love to watch all
the team semi trucks travel the route
and the kids are typically shouting with
excitement when their favorite team
goes by! Another fun event is the
Sebring Race Gala which is put on by
our local Sebring Chamber of
Commerce. It’s a great race themed
event and something you don’t want to
miss.
The highlight of the week is the race
itself. There is something for everyone
at the race track. Cars of every shape
and size are ready to compete and do
their best to win the prize. Walking
behind the pit area during the race is
fascinating. There are concerts, cars
and all sorts of things to see while you
are there. Be sure to check it out if you
have the opportunity.
If you enjoy festivals then I have one for
you! The Sebring Soda Festival will be
here before we know it. The festival
takes place on April 5th and 6th. It’s a
great event. Last year was our first time
attending and sponsoring this event. To
say it was a great time would be an
understatement. Our whole team came
out to help since we were also one of
the soda tasting sites.
I never knew there were so many
different sodas to try. There are over
200 sodas to sample! A popular one the
kids wanted to try was Avery Unicorn
Yack. Who wouldn’t want to try that?
The boys got a kick out of trying Avery
Zombie Brain Juice. There is really
something for everyone there whether
you enjoy traditional soda, fruit themed
or want to live on the wild side and try
something you never knew existed.
There are so many delicious fizz-filled
drinks waiting for you.
Another reason the Sebring Soda
Festival is great is because there is
more to do than just sample soda. All
sorts of vendors come from across the
state. There is food and even an area
for the kids to enjoy. If you are able to
make it stop by our tent and say hi.
Don’t forget to get your picture with the
Sebring Soda Festival mascot
Car-Bo-Nate.
One final topic for today. Sebring,
Florida will be featured on Season 3 of
HGTV’s Home Town Takeover! This is
big news for our community and the
transformation to our downtown area
has been something to see. This season
will feature not only our beautiful town
but also several of our local businesses.
Be sure to watch the premier on
Sunday, March 9 at 8:00pm.
Thanks for joining us today. We will see
you next time. Remember, if it crawls or
fly’s, we’re your guys!
